Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Inverter?
Old air conditioning systems run similar to a lamp. You turn on the lamp when you need it and turn it off when you don’t. The basic air conditioner turns on when you need it and turns off when the set temperature is reached.
Inverter systems are some what similar to an accelerator on a car, when the heat removing energy is required the inverter ramps up and when the temperature is achieved the inverter ramps down. This makes the inverter a more comfortable and more economical air conditioner
· Better suited to extreme temperatures
· Maintains a smoother temperature.
· Less noisy.
· Temperature is reached quicker in both heating and cooling
· An increase of 30% in heating capacity
· Much smaller in size
· Up to 35% cheaper to run than non-inverter A/C’s.
· Designed to last – Studies will show that compressors in an inverter system will last longer. This is due to the compressor not starting under full load.

What's The Cooling Capacity?
Measured in
Generally speaking humidity is the measure of water in the air. If humidity is at a high percentage, than you will usually appear to sweat more than usual. Turning the unit on to cooling should solve this problem. If it does not, then set your A/C to the humid function.

How Do I Clean The filters?
Open the indoor access panel and remove the filters. The filter can be cleaned washing in water, brushing or hosing. The SRK range has three levels of filtration. The conventional filter removes dust and particles. The Allergen Filter destroys various fungi and bacteria and the Photo catalytic filter deodorizes. The indoor fan has an Antibacterial treatment ensuring the air from the indoor unit remains clean and odour free.
Are They Flexible?
The multi-head inverter range has many indoor and outdoor models. Up to four indoor units can be run off a single outdoor unit - the choice of indoor units determines the correct outdoor unit required. This enables the creation of indoor zones with different settings, such as a day zone for living areas and a night zone for bedrooms. Now you can air condition a whole house with a single system.
Who should install my air conditioner?
Due the fact that air conditioners contain an ozone depleting substance, the refrigerant, and require an electrical connection to a dedicated circuit, only a licensed NRAC (National Refrigeration Air conditioning Council) installer and an A grade electrician should be used.
Are They noisey?
All air conditioners make noise and it is measured in a variety of ways by different manufacturers. The environment in which the condenser (outdoor) is located in has a great effect on your perception of noise. If noise is a concern for you ideally you should ask your retailer/installer to see/hear a similar unit in operation.
Example: If the condenser is located in a paved courtyard and surrounded by concrete and/or bricks, the sound generated by the unit will not be absorbed and will bounce off the surfaces -increasing the perception of noise. If the condenser is located in a soft environment such as a garden or with plenty of space around it, the sound emitted will be less obvious.
TIP: If possible do not install your air conditioner near your neighbour’s bedroom.
What is Back-To-Back Installation?
A back to back installation is the easiest and least expensive installs. It only applies to wall hung splits. It is where the indoor unit hangs on the same wall as the outdoor unit. It is an install which uses the least amount of consumables
What is the operating cost?
The operating cost is the cost of running your unit of a period of time. The operating cost is determined by the size of the A/C. The size of the room to be air conditioned and the energy efficiency of you’re A/C. Reverse cycle inverter A/C’s are the most effective way to cool, and the most efficient way to heat your home or office
How long does it take to install a new Air Conditioning Unit?
Depending on the size and where the unit is installed, the installation could take 3 hours to a couple of days
